One of China’s lesser-known exports is a dangerous brew of soot, toxic chemicals and climate-changing gases from the smokestacks of coal-burning power plants.
The fact is that coal is not only dirty but dangerous. The New York Times explains how smog and soot from half-way around the world still manage to pollute our country’s air and our environment. The consequences of burning coal continuously add to the energy challenge we face today. Alternative energy sources become more and more logical as more evidence is collected on the harmful effects of coal pollution.
